McDonald's opens Metaverse restaurants

McDonald's has filed some trademark applications to put its restaurants and McCafe's in the Metaverse.

The trademark applications indicate McDonald's plans to offer a virtual restaurant featuring actual and virtual goods and operate a virtual restaurant featuring home delivery. Business Insider also reported that the fast-food chain's customers could purchase NFTs to collect, trade, or sell in exchange for virtual goods.

Forbes reported that one of the trademarks focuses on entertainment services. That gives McDonald's the ability to host actual and virtual concerts online.

Many big brands have started to work on their presence in the Metaverse, but McDonald's is among the very first ones to launch a virtual store where its clients can buy physical items.

The Green Planet AR experience opens its doors in London

An in-person AR experience inspired by BBC's The Green Planet series opened in Piccadilly Circus in London, UK. BBC announced the Green Planet AR experience a year ago.

The Green Planet AR experience guides the guests through six digitally enhanced environments – from rainforests to freshwater and saltwater worlds to desert landscapes - narrated by none other than Sir David Attenborough.

"You'll see that plants can be as aggressive, competitive and dramatic as any living thing on the planet – and how they form intriguing relationships with animals. And you'll discover why plants are so vital for the future of our planet. Your device is a window into a secret world," says Sir David Attenborough in a statement.

That's all for now, see you next time!
