    Find me on:

Team Arilyn is growing, again! Let's give a warm welcome to our newest member, Liisa Mathlin. Liisa is our new Marketing Manager, specializing in content and social media. So more interesting articles, guides and other useful materials for our followers to read. We welcome Liisa with our traditional way by asking her really random questions. Let's begin!

Welcome, Liisa! A brief introduction, if you please.

I'm Liisa, working as a Marketing Manager. My tasks include all (miscellaneous) things marketing, focusing on writing and social media. At least at this point, we'll see what the future holds!

Yes, you really are an excellent writer, but also a culture producer by education. I believe that will come in handy later. What are you most grateful for at the moment?

I'm grateful for the upcoming summer. I tend to get a little depressed during winter, so I'm happy there is more light and warmth in life. And this new job is fantastic too!

I agree. Both the summer and the job part. Speaking of summer – Do you like the rain?

Depends. I like jogging in the rain and of course reading and drinking tea inside when it's raining is a pleasure. Driving when it's raining and dark is the worst!

You should raise your soft top then! Ba-dum-tsshh. In the movie of your life, who would play you?

Hmm. I really like the humour of Chrissy Teigen and Jennifer Lawrence, maybe one of them. Although they're both so much taller than me. Is there an actress who's under 1,6 meters?

I believe so. At least Anna Kendrick, Salma Hayek, Emilia Clarke, Emma Roberts, Amy Poehler, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Hilary Duff and Eva Longoria. Ok, on with the real show. What is your most fabulous career fail?

I don't think I've made any fails per se. If I had to say something, maybe it would be my indecisiveness and not setting goals.

No fails? We'll make sure to do something about that. Best ever career advice?

Take the chances you get and don't burn down any bridges. You never know where life takes you.

I like that one! What is your favourite season?

Summer! I'm allergic to all others. And I'm not joking.

Hope it's only mild rash, and not anaphylaxis -scale. Who's your hero?

My whole family, including cousins, aunts and grandparents. They've all chosen their own path in life and made brave choices. That's what has given me the courage to follow my instinct, and I think I'm going ok.

If you didn't do what you do now, what would you be doing?

Very hard to say. I never had a clear thought of what I wanted to do. At one point, I wanted to be an archaeologist or a set decorator. Also, tourism was attractive once. And all things space. Also, I have worked as a construction painter. So no idea.

All those interests combined equals marketing. Fair enough. Chocolate or strawberry?

What is this question? Both – together!

Correct! That was a trick question and you passed! What did you have for breakfast? Chocolate and strawberries?

Coffee with oat milk and oatmeal with oat gurt, pumpkin seeds and pomegranate seeds. So oat with coffee and seeds.

    What would you rather have?

If I could have a hot oat beverage and oat seeds to go with other oat products.

You really love oats, am I correct? Favourite drink?

    Only one? Then coffee.

Of course, because it's half oats. What is your greatest frustration?

If I have to explain something many times.

    Dogs or cats?

    Cats! A million times cats!

What job would you be terrible at?

Something where I had to be outside in the cold. Can't function. Or public speaking or something like that.

Too bad we've booked you to the next available Polar Bear Pitching. Better start practising, then. What do you wish you knew more about?

Sometimes it's a little awkward how little I know about movies that everyone should know. Like Star Wars. I was well over 20 when I saw them the first time.

It's ok not to have watched Star Wars. Star Trek is also accepted. Unusual hobbies or interests?

I'm a Salkkarit addict. Can't live without. Also I do aerial yoga. Or I would if I got the hammock in place. But I'm not sure if that's unusual or not.

Never heard, so at least unusual for me. Favourite band?

Hard to pick just one. Depends on the day and the mood. Pariisin kevät works every time.

Tell us a short story from your childhood.

This is more from the teen time than childhood. I was 14 or 15, and at a straightening dentist, I had been going to for 2 years. The outcome was no braces for me, yay! – But my tongue is in the wrong place. Maybe if it was somewhere closer to the dentist's bottom-area, I'd have straight teeth.

Thank you for your time! We love to have you onboard our cat-shaped spaceship filled with oats, leading us boldly towards an eternal summer! I believe you will enjoy your journey with Arilyn.
