We have some new faces here at Arilyn this spring! First up we have Iiris, who is a trainee focusing on our new spin-off product, Virtual Art Gallery.
Let's welcome Iiris with some random questions!
Hi Iiris, great to have you on board! Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Iiris, and I am an intern at Arilyn. My assignments center around Virtual Art Gallery. I have previously worked at Huuto Gallery, and right now, I'm studying graphic design at Metropolia UAS.
Virtual Art Gallery is for sure an exciting launch to be a part of! What are you most grateful for at the moment?
I am grateful that I am healthy and loved and have this opportunity to have my trainee period. The current state of the events has caused a lot of unwanted stress for visual and cultural workers.
That's true, but luckily we have some virtual possibilities to compensate! But, of course, they're not the same. Do you like rain?
It depends. If I can fall asleep on the raindrops hitting my window, I love it. If I have to manage urgent things outside of the home, it is a different story.
In the movie of your life, who would play you?
Interesting! What is your greatest career fail?
When I pursued the wrong career path for too long. The insecurities of my own skills made me think that I am not worthy in the visual field.
For sure you are, fantastic that you are on the right path now! Best ever career advice?
"If you only compare yourself to the best of your field, you will never see your own achievements." - my tattoo artist.
That's excellent advice! What is your favorite season?
Same. Who's your hero?
If you didn't do what you do now, what would you be doing?
I'd organize punk gigs.
Oh wow! Chocolate or strawberry?
What did you have for breakfast?
What would you rather have?
Coffee is good.
It sure is. Favorite drink?
I thought it would be coffee. What is your greatest frustration?
Hah, it sure can be! Dogs or cats?
All animals are equal and deserve to be loved.
The correct answer would have been cats, but I accept that. What job would you be terrible at?
I hate it if I have to boss someone around.
What do you wish you knew more about?
Space. I do not understand anything of it.
Space is indeed a super fascinating topic! Unusual hobbies or interests?
I collect bones.
Ooh! Favorite band?
And for the final question: tell us a short story from your childhood.
M best friend and I used to make our own "perfumes" by crushing rose petals in water. We then sold these perfumes to our neighbors, which my mom found out. We had already spent all the money on candy, but we did get a stern talk.
Hahaha, what little business people you must have been!
Thank you so much for answering these weird questions! I hope you have an excellent trainee period and that you have a blast with us!
